SYNOPSISThe concert opens with Cello Concerto No. 1 in C major by Joseph Haydn, a work that blends classical elegance with moments of great technical demand and expressiveness, performed by the young soloist Hannah Kim.
After the intermission, the program shifts toward popular and choral music, with a selection of preludes and choruses from zarzuela and opera. From La verbena de la Paloma by Tomás Bretón to the famous Va, pensiero by Verdi, and including excerpts by Chueca, Vives, Alonso, Wagner, and Bizet, this second half offers a journey through the European choral repertoire in dialogue with popular tradition, lyricism, and theatricality.
